Astray: A Forsaken Tale
Astray is Columbia College Chicago's 2014 Large Team Game Project. It is a first-person stealth/horror game where a young girl must wander through her castle home in search of her parents after the castle is overrun by a demonic presence.
My role on the project was predominantly UI Design and Development. I was introduced to an engine plug-in called Scaleform which displays .swf files made in Adobe Flash in the Unity Engine, either directly onto the camera or as textures on objects. Using Scaleform and a combination of Actionscript and C#, I've made robust menus and on-screen notifications that fit the game's Dark Fantasy theme. I'm especially proud of how the start screen came out. Between the art team's great models, sound team's music and SFX, and my coding, it does a great job of welcoming the player into the game's dark, unsettling world.
The game and info about it were initially hosted on Columbia College Chicago's website, but that page seems to no longer be in use.
