Paper Mask
Paper Mask is a game I worked on with two friends for the 2026 Global Game Jam. The theme for this 7 day long jam was "Masks". We decided to make a game about a person with no face of their own that instead makes and uses masks based on the expressions they see in others. They use this talent to make masks to help others express themselves in the ways they want.
I set up the game's main menu, mask-swap system and interface, dialogue system, and sound effect hooks. I also wrote the game's dialogue and was a major participant in the game's conception and design.
Controls:
Move and navigate menus with WASD
Jump with Space (inconsequential, but fun!)
Interact and Confirm with E
Toggle your Mask Menu with Q
You can download the game's source files from its page on the Global Game Jam website, but the .zip file on the page does not include several files required to play the game on PC. An unfortunate casualty of rushing to get new assets in at the last minute.
Instead, you can download the PC executable from here: Link
And access the Global Game Jam page with the link to the source files here: Link
